New investment made in energy saving technology
(18.1.2008) Increased focus on intelligent energy saving appliances combined with UpCoTech A/S ability to down-scale sizes for server cabinets and alike makes SEED investment in UpCoTech interesting from several perspectives
UpCoTech present an energy saving technology for AC/DC power supplies aiming to reduce conversion losses up to 50%.
The market size of AC/DC power supplies exceeds USD 7 billion. A large share of this belongs to the Server/Data-storage and Telecom market. These market segments are characterized by being very power demanding and power consuming and thereby a perfect match for the UpCoTech technology.
“ Increased awareness of energy efficiency from an environmental and commercial perspective makes UpCoTech a very interesting venture case in several markets. With our extensive network and experience in electronically hardware industry as well as cleantech, we believe we have a winning proposition for tomorrow’s choice of energy savers in this growing industry” says SEED Capital Investment Manager Jens Albertsen
UpCoTech A/S is situated at the grounds of DTU, managed by the PhD electrical engineer’s Lars Tønnes Jakobsen and Lars Press Petersen who invented the patent pending technology from a successful PhD programme initially sponsored by the Danish Energy Authority.
