Besst Test
Technology
Besst-Test is developing an easy-to-use, dipstick-type diagnostic device for monitoring human blood coagulation mechanisms by means of a urine sample. The device will be able to reveal whether a patient is likely to develop complications (e.g. embolism in the lungs) due to an increased activation of the blood coagulation mechanism after an operation.
Value Proposition
The device is intended for point-of-care by allowing patients to monitor themselves at home or via their general practitioner. The device will be able to save the health sector considerable sums by reducing the number of bed-days and freeing up medical staff resources. The device is also expected to be applied in controlling the duration of treatment with antithrombotic drugs.
Clinical proof-of-concept has been achieved and the technology is now being patented worldwide.
Clinical trials are on-going and FDA certification is under preparation. Several pharma companies have already shown significant interest in the device.
